Public Works of $200,000 or more:
For public works projects of $200,000 or more, the plans, specifications and the estimate
of the work must be approved by the Commissioners and placed on file with the Port.
Public Works less than $200,000 (often referred to as “Small Works”):
The Port of Chelan County formally adopted a small works procedure for public work contracts, which are defined as public works having a contract sum less than $200,000 (including sales tax). Small works are a subset of public works that allows for an alternate contracting procedure. An estimate of the scope and nature of the work is prepared, but detailed plans and specifications are not required. The "invitation for quotations" need not be advertised; however, the invitation will be sought from all appropriate contractors on the appropriate small works roster. If more than 5 contractors are listed, then invitations may be sent to only 5 contractors. Efforts will be made for the selection of the 5 contractors to be "equitably distributed".
Interested contractors should contact the Port and complete the small works application to be considered for future small works projects.

Suppliers
The Port does not maintain a vendor list for supplies, materials and equipment that are unrelated to a public works project. Vendors are selected based upon a variety of factors, including (but not limited to): pricing, ability to fill orders, delivery, experience, past performance, convenience, quality of service, etc. Meetings with vendors are by appointment only, however, vendors are encouraged to include the Port on their distribution lists for promotional materials.
